Vital Link

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

I have talked w/ a OT (I will be meeting w/ her next week) and she mentioned a listening program called Vital Link. I was actually told about this program from a IM provider. She had suggested we try VL since my son is only 7. Anyway… I was wondering if anyone has ever tried this particular program and if they found it successful. I was also wondering if it is possible to get the school to help pay for the OT once school begins again. Any advice appreciated.

Amy,

We have just completed IM with our 7yo AS boy. I have seen WONDERFUL improvement in his balance, focus and imagination if you can believe that LOL….
As far as the school paying for the OT you have to keep in mind that they ONLY pay for it if it is educable relivante to the child.

Yes, at school, usually OT services are secondary to some other primary disabling condition like LD, etc. You can request an evaluation form the school, but it may not allow services if there is no educationally related handicap.
