VNS and autism

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

I stumbled across some research being done by the University of Texas on autism.

VNS is being used for intractable epilepsy and depression with good results. Because many people with autism also have siezures VNS is being looked into.

It’s too bad people associate it with electro-convulsive therapy. It is nothing like it. It is pretty much free from side effect. SOme people have a knee jerk reaction to things they don’t understand.

I’ll look for a link.
