Just got Lauren’s script from the Psych yesterday (2-27-03) (and yes we’re getting hit here in the Fredericksburg, VA area w/ all this snow too! 7 inches and counting this morning, supposed to get 2 more before it all ends by 12pm!). (Kids have only had 2.5 days of sch in the last 2 wks! Ugh).
Anyways…she’s been on ZOLOFT since Dec 24th to try to help w/ massive behaviour issues at home (not nec at sch) but the teacher really thinks she’s ADHD as well…and I suspected too - so at yesterday’s check up appt - we discussed it and the Dr wanted to try Strattera. So I guess we’ll see how it goes.
Lauren also has MOEBIUS Syndrome (all physical, not mental) which has it’s own challenges.
We’re hoping for more behaviour improvement - as the ZO was great in the beg, but she still has about 3-4 out of 7 days of behaviour issues at home.
Thanks for all the good reading here.

Re: Oh and Lauren is 8 yrs old nt
I thought that Zoloft did not help with impulsvity. We tried it once but my son after a while seemed more impulsive. Now, he is on Wellbutrin and we are also trying Strattera. So far, it makes him very tired and not hungry.
Re: Oh and Lauren is 8 yrs old nt
The Zoloft for Lauren has done this:
she has eye contact when having conversations.
she actually initiates conversations with adults (and keeps eye contact).
she has WAY more good mornings than bad when getting ready for sch.
she is hitting her younger sibling MUCH less.
her meltdowns are fewer (but still do happen).
These are all positive things for us…..so we’re staying on ZOLOFT and also just starting Strat (yesterday was first day of it)….bec she’s just not focusing/staying on task in sch.
