Well I’m back with more questions. The school called today to set up a meeting time to discuss the results of the tests that they gave my 10 year old daughter. The thing is the last meeting went so badly that my defences are already up. I have made up my mind that I ‘m not going to leave the school in tears as I have so many times before. I just don’t know what to do to prepare myself. I have looked all over the internet for a explaination of test results and still can’t find what I am looking for. So I thought maybe some one here could help me. The test results from last year are:
verbal IQ 76
performance IQ 64
full scale IQ 68
VC 84
PO 62
FD 55
PS 80
I don’t know what is normal for her age and it doesn’t say on the paper. I would really like to show them that I’m not the quiet parent that used to go to these meetings and agree with everything they say. Apparently they aren’t doing something right or my daughter would be progressing in school instead of doing worse than ever. I just want to walk in there knowin what they are talking about and ask questions and get the answer I need not the one they think I need.
Re: well I'm Back With More Questions???
Read this article, or atleast the first 6 pages. I think you will find it useful. It has many arguments for early internevtion.

Can you go back to whoever gave the evaluation and ask them to explain?
Re: well I'm Back With More Questions???
Is this the first time she was tested? What grade is she in? Has she had achievement testing? What disability category does she receive services under now? Average IQ is 90-110 standard score; but many things influence interpretation of test scores.
I can't really help, but
I can’t really help you with what you’re asking, but there are many ppl here who can, so I’ll leave that to the experts.
But, if you find a way…to not leave the school in tears….please share.
What kind of placement do they have for your daughter now? Is she in a regular classroom? A resource room? Does she receive any tutoring in or out of school?
And what are the signs that she’s not progressing? Are her grades low? Does she feel like she’s struggling?
A little more information would be great to have. Test scores by themselves don’t tell much of the picture.
