Is there an easy to follow summary link somewhere (rather than having to track down every drug individually)?
My son had a pretty good year on 36 mg concerta (though I didn’t know there was a “social” side effect as I’m reading here tonight), with 20 mg of seroquel a.m. and p.m. Behavior/impulsivity/aggression began to get worse in afternoon, we added another 20 mg of seroquel at night and watched for sleepiness but once again had a paradoxical response.
Now I’m wondering about trying a small Ritalin boost (which worked well for about a year and a half before losing effectiveness) after school to help get through activities, homework, etc. We had a bad bounce effect during the Ritalin era so I’m a little afraid of the recurring bedtime nightmares.
Any thoughts? Thanks.
Re: Good Book
A good book to have and read is:
Straight Talk about Psychiatric Medications for Kids by Dr. Timothy Wilens. Gives alot of info on the different disorders and the medicines used to treatments etc.
Thank you. We decided to try upping the concerta to 45 (yes, I get to buy 2 prescriptions  ) and seeing how that works, but I’m definitely going to look into Dr. Wilens book.
Also, a group that used to post here...
can be found (I believe) at www.millermom.com or .net …do a search for millermom and you should find them. They have lots of experience in finding the right balance for difficult kids who must have meds to manage successfully…check them out.
Url for Information of Meds.
