Where to start?

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

I have a nine year old dyslexic son. I am in the process of fighting the school to get him a good reading program.(Wilson or Orton Gillingham) I may be able to get him a free tutor in Orton Gillingham. That is a big maybe. I just found out that the school he is going to in September has Wilson. Will that be to confusing to have both? He can’t really read at all. He is so intelligent .I wish his school this year would give him the reading program he needs.Any advice?
Thanks,
Rachel

Wilson is an ORton-Gillingham program so there should not be confusion (though sometimes our kiddos don’t follow our directions about not being confused!). They should support each other unless the teachers are *very* different.
