Ever wonder what the world would be like if having LD or ADD was normal, and everyone else who didn’t, needed an IEP or 504 plan?
My kid asked me this question.
My thoughts on the subject:
we be wearing a lot more tie dye!
Classes would be a lot more interesting! We would be drawing more, singing more, playing more music, and thinking more.
We would wonder more,we would argue more,we would love school more.we would appreciate more,we would accomodate more,we would discuss more,we would laugh more,we would have a lot more computers,a lot more books,a lot more paint,a lot more…….
Awesome
I agree - what an awesome way to look at the world. Another “strange?” thought what if there really is no such thing as LD or ADD/ADHD but just differences among people and “society” has decided to put it into a category because it is just too ??? to accept. For example if there was such a classroom with all children with LD, etc. and then you put a “mainstream” child in there, who would have the “difficulty”??? Hmmmmm… just wondering… by the way I just joined here - my 5 yr. old son was just diagnosed with Visual Perception Disorder and I am trying to find out in “Plain English” what this is, what I can expect, and what I should do other than what the school district plans to do for him in the Fall. Nice to meet everyone! Fondly, KIM
What an interesting “view” of the world!
