Landmark College

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

Has anyone had first hand experience attending Landmark College? My son is applying to their summer session. Although he is finishing his third year at a community college, he has always felt like an alien and that no one really understands the way his brain works. Since it is solely LD, he is hoping to connect with people who think the way he does.

It’s more likely to happen at Landmark, but when you’re unique you’re unique. Maybe he shold visit and lurk around student lounges, look for extracurricular interest groups.
It’s also sometimse a lot easier to find kindred spirits when you’ve got a major and you’re further along in it (and if it isn’t, at least think about hte major choice).

Landmark College is a two year college so he would be getting another associates degree. Although they have an excellent reputation for remediation, your son might be better served at a four year school with comprehensive services such as Mitchell or Curry College where he would have lots of support and get an bachelor’s degree. There are many schools that probably could accomodate him
