Accelerated Math Program

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

Has anybody ever used Accelerated Math with students with LD in math? If so, were the students successful? Thanks you.

Sally,
I have worked as a consultant to school who are interested in using the Accelerated Math Program. I am also an 8th grade Math teacher at a private school. I have worked with some LD students. Most are ADHD, and a few with slight Dyslexia.

Remember to print fewer problems for these students. Always require them to show all their work.
Using a cardboard marker to move down the page of problems also helps.
You can also change the status of “objectives mastered”. I mean instead of getting 4 out of 5 correct on a test to master, you can set it for 3 out of five.
The program will give as much practice as needed before it shows that the student is ready to test. And remember the student must be successful in practice before they can test on an objective.

There are so many ways to adapt this program to specific needs. I think you’ll like using it with these students.
I don’t know if I answered your question
