I am looking for good internet sites that will provide me with information on the assessment of students who may be LD.
Re: Assessment resources
your best bet is to walk into a school and ask for help, then after they say no be a bit** and make them give you the help you need for your child.
Re: Assessment resources
Marla,
I am going to guess you are a teacher since you are asking this question on the teaching LD bulletin board. There are some good articles on assessment on this site under LD Indepth, Assessment. I do not yet have this book, but I intend to buy it, “Educational Care” by Dr. Mel Levine. Amazon only has the old edition as far as I can tell, but you can order the new addition through www.epsbooks.com. Actually, here is the page that describes the book:
http://www.epsbooks.com/catalogsite/code/epsdescbld.cfm?product=1987M&catnumber=1987
It not only describes different learning problems, but it also tells how to assess and then what to do about them.
