Any suggestions?
I have a student in my 3rd grade math class who was taking medication during the first marking period. Medication was changed during second marking period. I did not find this to have a positive effect on his learning. Now as we begin the third marking period this child has been taken off all medication. He is beginning to be aggressive toward classmates and is not able to benefit from instruction.
This student is seated near the front of the room, is closely monitored, and positive reinforcement is provided when appropriate. I try to use multi-modal presentations as I teach.
Please share any techniques you have found to be successful with unmedicated students.
