Computerized IEPs

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

Our district is looking into computerizing our IEPs. Does anyone have experience with a program that is Mac compatible, comprehensive and user-friendly that you’d recommend?

We are going to go district wide almost paperless in August. We adapted ours from some company in Hawaii. Our district has spent close to a million dollars tweaking it and making it fit our district and hopes to sell it to others. It is called ISPED. Looks great. Had an inservice. The first year it will take a while to input info in but after that it should be a huge time saver. You won’t have to ever put in an address or student number again etc.. Every night it uploads any other changes from the district’s central computer. Tests scores and other data should be dumped in it too. automatically.

I am hoping that we can keep more special ed teachers and that it cuts down on the paper work.

We can even email the documents home to parents if they have email. If other districts use our same system it will be great so we don’t have to study the different IEP to figure it out. A district requesting the info with proper permission can get results quicker too.

A few schools piloted it last year. Looks very promising.
