discussing LD with students

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

I teach 5th grade students in a self contained classroom in ny. i feel that we dont provide opportunities for kids to discuss their LD enough. Anyone have suggestions on books to read or ways we can help students become more aware of what is difficult for them and how to advocate for themselves, both in and out of the classroom?
thanks.

Highly recommend Mel Levine’s books - Keeping Ahead in School and All Kinds of Minds. They are both written for students to help them better understand their learning styles and differences.
