Hi friends,
I got a message from Ken Campbell of Great Leaps last night. He has been reading the posts but he cannot post a response. So I guess in the meantime if you have Great Leaps questions let me know and I will forward them to Ken.
Does anyone have any suggestions to give him?
Patti,
Cannot post on LD online - even on my new Mac which has no guard programs whatsoever. The moderators gave some recommendations but I can’t change my entire computing method for one BB - given GL questions, let them know I’m reading but not allowed to respond. Ken
Re: does anyone else have problems with posting?
I have a Mac running OSX1.2. I am having no problems reading or posting.
Must be some other problem. Might try reinstalling the browser software.
You can save the bookmarks but it is a little bit of a trick.

Posting issues: old and new interface
I may have a clue to what the problem maybe.
And I do’nt think it’s in the users computer.
I ran into a problem posting from the old LD Online bulletin Board interface (e.g. http://forums.weta.org/ldonline/phorum/list.php?f=6 )
try it…
Then I discovered that there had been a change (at what date I do not know.) I think the new interface is a long awaited improvement. Yet, like most things new the transition often leaves out those in the middle.
I’ve left a private message to the moderators’ administrators to look into having a transfer page or banner denoting that one cannot post form the old format or at least direct them to the new format where they can register and reset their bookmarks etc…
from Left field?

Re: does anyone else have problems with posting?
Hey I missed this. Don’t get a PC! Use the force, Ken! Don’t give in to the evil empire. :-) Btw, Ken you might try Mac’s new browser called Safari. I think you can download this for free at the Mac website. It is a neat browser as well.
I think Bill’s idea might have merit.
Anyway the net is not platform related at all. All info should be equally available to all platforms including Linux and BeOS and Amiga for that matter. If he is having trouble it could be what Bill suggests, a problem with how the settings in the browser are set, or some other thing like that.

Lol! Hey, des, you must have Apple stock or something.

Re: does anyone else have problems with posting?
Just as an update to what I posted and observed; I received this quickly returned (excellant) note from the LD Online moderator. (I’ve edited the note to fit the original posts query and my quandary of a reply.
I trust I’m not over stepping the protocol of the board by posting this, if I am I’ll trust it finds its way to being deleted.
” Thank you for your feedback.
The old boards are not supposed to be seen by the public, though we have managed to “hide”them by redirecting users to the new pages. For users who bookmarked the frame instead of the frameset (like you), the page won’t be redirected.
Anyway, they will soon be permanently removed from the server to avoid unwanted access by users.
We have transfered all old postings to the new system, except some messages posted during the 6 hours of transition.
Best regards,
LD OnLine[/quote] ”
So, if I was on track with the original posters query -then the LD Online reply should fit.
If not, (and not to put too much stock into the vehicle…) ~go johnny apple seed… go!

Here's a thought
Try this: type weta.org into your search line. When you get that, hit the button for education (might be under community). Then go to LD Online. That will get you into the latest version of the forum. Then save that address on your favourites file and wipe out whatever old address you have.
Hi Patti and Ken! I use a PC, so I just don’t have a clue about a Mac. On second thought, just get a PC, too. We’d miss you around here, Ken!
