FCAT Accomodations

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

I have a brilliant little boy in my class who is a 4th grader. I need to know how to teach him to prepare him for the Florida Writes! portion of the FCAT. He uses assistive technology to help him read tests and textbooks, because he has profound dyslexia. I put flexible responding on his IEP when he was assessed for the technology. I keep asking my admin to tell me how I will give him this test, and I can’t get a straight answer. Anyone know? He should be able to dictate, because that’s what he does on everyday assignments. Is he allowed to tell me his prompt, and then add grammar and punctuation? I am concerned about interrupting his flow of thought if he has to pause and give grammatical instructions. Anyone? Help?
