Forign Language

Don’t know if it was here or IDA site that someone was looking for a foreign language to teach a dyslexic for high school credit. Just a thought. Japanese might actually be a good language. It is a consistent phonetic language so pronunciation is easy. The written language is symnbolic so dyslexics that like complexity might actually enjoy it. You learn the symnbols thru stroke order. The simple written language for foreign words and children is easily learned. (Hiragana and katakana) It is inflected and the inflections are consistent. (that means that you change tenses by changing the word endings). EX: Wakarimasu:
(Wa Ka Ri Ma Su -each two letter sound is a simple brush stroke to write) I understand. Wakarimashita: I understood. Shita is added for all verbs to mean past tense. Rules have almost no variations. The verb is Always at the end. It is actually pretty easy to learn at home with tapes as long as you practice the pronunciation sounds first. I took it in collge because I’d procrastinated my foreign language and so had to cram about 20 hours into one year and it offered the most credits. Just a thoguht and even though no more difficult and maybe even easier than many other languages including latin which I did in High school will impress the H out of college admissions.
