:D I have a 12 year old son who has ADHD. He has had a horrible year and I have decided to take on homeschooling him after researching and not having luck with an IEP or anything else in his school. Does anyone have advise as to a certain sytle they have found works for them? I know it is geared to the individual so I will keep that in mind. I am not sur about the curriculim though. He will be in the sixth grade. Any suggestion would be much appreciated. Also is there a way to incoprpoatr music for credit into it. He is great in this subject.
Thanks

Do a search on line and you’ll likely find your way to groups of homeschooling families in your area. They’ll be your best help as you choose curriculum and plan for your son. They’ll know the laws that pertain to homeschooling in your state and be best able to guide you.
Good luck.
Re: homeschooling
Thanks for your suggestions. I will definitely check on line for groups and look into lessons for my son.
Son is homeschooled
Hello,
My son will be in sixth grade next year. We have home schooled since the first grade. He has ADHD. We have decided to try Ohio Virtual Academy next year. Each child is different so you will have to find out what works best for your son. My son likes to be on his feet writing on the white board, talking about what he has learned, or acting out / demonstrating what he knows. Find out what your son loves and build on that. My son loves science and history. He just completed a report on the Titanic because sunken ships is a favorite topic. It is easier to get him motivated when he is working on things he enjoys. You can’t do this with every subject however. Good luck!
If you can afford it I would suggest private music lessons- either voice or the instrument of his choice. This gives both of you a break from each other and him some quality 1:1 instruction in something that interests him. You might also check into “field trips” to the symphony, band concerts, etc.
