How to find a OG tutor..

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

Hi all
I’ve gotten so information from these boards. I homeschool ds but am thinking about a reading tutor. I looked in the phone book but it really is no help at all and did a websearch but could not seem to find a listing for OG tutors. Anyone know of one or where I can find out his info for my area, Little Rock, AR?
Thanks

Check the International dyslexia Association website. They can point you in the right direction.

Hi Julie W.

I read and post on these boards frequently. I also live in Little Rock, AR.
My daughter has CAPD and has needed quite a bit of therapy, including
reading therapy. Maybe we can compare notes sometime. My child
goes to public school here and I have been thinking of homeschooling and
would like to hear about your experience.
I believe they use the OG method at the Centers for Youth and Families
Dyslexia Center. My daughter has been tested there by Stacy Mahurin
(not sure I spelled that right)
I believe they even offer group tutoring at reasonable rates.
Try 661-1570, this is the number for the Dyslexia Training Center
and talk to Stacy.
Hope this helps!
Stephanie

Your best bet would likely to find the phone number to the local branch of the International Dyslexia Association. They can put you in touch with local tutors. I am co directing a summer camp (with a OG tutoring component) in the Yellowstone region of Wyoming. We accept students ages 9-16yrs old. Please visit our website at www.shoshonesummer.com. Thank you and good luck!
