I am considering using Corrective Reading with two of my students (grades 5+6). I know others on this board have experience with it; could you please give me some feedback on the positives and negatives, the students it works best with, and tips on implementing it?

Corrective Reading is great for kids who have not received adequate instruction in phonics skills. It is not appropriate for students who lack phonemic awareness or phonological sequencing skills. These students require a multisensory language program before Corrective Reading would be effective. I have nothing but praise for the program for students who do not have severe learning disabilities.
