Interactive Metronome - Audiblox?

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

What is the difference between these two programs? When would you use each?

Interactive metronome is a program that works on motor planning, timing, attention. It is at a sensory-motor level.

Audioblox is a cognitive training program.

Logically, if you were to do both you’d want to do IM first. Not all kids who might benefit from Audioblox would require IM. Depends on what the issues are.

This is from a manual on sensory integration for parents

“Motor planning involves involves having an idea about what to do, planning an action, and finally excuting the action. New actions are planned, using knowledge of past experiences and the sesnations that accompany them.”

I posted on the parenting bb about our recent experiences with IM, if you are interested.
