Museum of London and Museum in Docklands are committed to providing inspirational and accessible learning opportunities to the widest range of people. We offer a rich programme of tailored sessions and resources, both museum-based and in schools, for pupils with special educational needs (SEN). This post will manage the programme, liaising closely with class teachers and the freelance educators, storytellers, artists and actors who deliver the sessions. The post holder will also help coordinate other schools’ projects, keeping financial records, writing progress reports and monitoring evaluation.

Applicants should have a successful track record of developing and delivering learning programmes and resources for schools, ideally for pupils with SEN, and proven administrative and project management skills. Knowledge of the National Curriculum and an understanding of the learning needs of pupils with SEN are essential. Experience of working in a museum or similar organisation would be an advantage.

Applications for part-time working (2-3 days per week) to cover just the SEN aspects of this post will be considered.

Application forms and further details can be found at www.jobsgopublic.com/museumoflondon Alternatively, please send an self-addressed A4 envelope to Museum of London, 150 London Wall, London, EC2Y 5HN, marked for the attention of Human Resources and quoting reference number MoL ALOS. The closing date for applications is 11 August 2006 at 5pm. Interviews will be held on 24 August.

Disabled applicants who meet the essential criteria will be interviewed.

The Museum of London is committed to the establishment of a diverse workforce. People from minority ethnic communities and with disabilities are currently under-represented in our workforce and applications from these groups are therefore particularly welcome.
