Hello. I am seeking some tips for a LD/BD resource teacher as I am new to this aspect of Spec.Ed. Does anyone have a list that they recommend or some references that they found to be really helpful, personally?

I teach a high school ED/BD class. I would love to share with you how I
manage the students’ behaviors, but it is lengthy and I’m too tired to go into it

My site’s got mostly content with a focus on the LD end, and older students — but in my experience, structured success irons out many behavioral issues (of course not all, especially if the BD really is the primary issue, not frustration w/ school).

For the BD element, find out *exactly* what support you are *really* going to get from your admins. Some of them only talk the talk and some don’t even do that — hey, YOU are the sped teacher, don’t ask us to deal with those crazy kids for any reason,e ven if they’re smoking dope in your classroom and stealing televisions from other rooms.
