Have any of you LD teachers ever placed a child LD Listening Comp?
If so, I’d be interested to know what tests were used. I think this is a neglected category of LD.
I think my child should qualify in this area, but we only have one subtest that specifically tests this area and I need one more. And I have been told that the WJ-III scores pretty high, so I’d prefer not to use that one.
Thanks,
Janis
Re: LD Listening Comprehension
Thanks, Robin. I did not know about the delayed recall portion of the WJ-III listening subtests. It is very helpful to know to ask for that.
Janis
Hi Janis-
The CELF has a good section on Listening Comprehension. I haven’t found the WJIII cluster to be too far off- it is especially nice if you can have both sets of scores-CELF and WJIII though because the tasks are quite different. If you do the WJIII make sure they do Story Comprehension, Following Directions and the delayedrecall clusters for both.
