Re: How old is your son? N/T
Leah,
He is in seventh grade now (almost 13). In his school they start changing for classes in grade 5, so getting him organized at that age was important. After trying a few different ways of organizing his binder and papers we hit on the one I described below. Apart from his pencil case and assignment book, his binder has only the plastic dividers, plastic slash envelopes, and blank looseleaf. (I’m thinking of putting those in a slash envelope too as the binders’ metal rings are totally off track by the end of the school year. He is still using the same dividers and slash envelopes from 5th grade.) I can’t emphasize enough what a difference it made to put all his homework due for the day in its own slash envelope (and that one’s clear, not colored to make sure there’s no problem seeing what’s in it).
I'm very interested
Marie,
I just went to my daughter’s IEP meeting (1hr, 20 min) and the “drum” I was beating was organization.
I’m not very “visual” so I just can’t understand what you are describing. Could you email me so we can “converse” more on this area and/or I can get the exact name of the products you use.
Jami starts 5th grade next year.
Thanks. My email is [email protected].
Re: I'm very interested
Leah, When I get a few minutes, I’ll look up the materials on the staples.com site and email you with the urls so you can look at pictures of them.
