I have a question for middle school sped teachers. What assessments do you absolutely have to administer to your students with LDs as part of their 3year reeval to help you best understand their learning style to develop an appropriate IEP?
My son’s 3year reeval meeting is next week and I don’t think the school did a very complete assessment.
Re: MIddle School Testing
It also depends where you are located. In AZ. it is legal to do a review of existing data to determine if the student still qualifies for special education services. Although, it is legal, it is not necessarily the most effective way to do a three year eval. We usually will complete a WISC-III to determine intelligence, and a WIAT- II to determine current level of achievement. Depending upon what other factors are going on, we may also complete other examinations. However, if the student is 14 years of age, there should be some sort of transition plan to assist the student to transistion from middle school to high school. Hope this helps.
Re: MIddle School Testing
I just found out that they did the StandardWJIII and not the extended assessment. Why would they do the short version?
who is on the team for his Tri.
The RSP could do the Brigance or the Woodcock-Johnson, the DTLA
The SLP would do their own battery depending on his deficits.
the Pschye could do the Wisc or another version of the Woodcock Johnson.
