MY son

I live in the Domican Republic i have a son whos 16, Over here evrything is new about 3 year the people here became aware of ADD. The special Edcation here no good. well … my son is boardline atleast thats what tell me here. It took me a hard time to accept my son… I wanted to son to be normal like his borthers…But my son is special.. My son is very smart.. I started working with his abilities like he. loves computers and math and he goes shopping by himself and does alot other stuff. I thank god for my son . You know alot of people earned lots of money without giong to a collage . whats inportant in life is to be happy with yourself and to have people accept you the wayu are. I myself im LD and low IQ and i have a perfect life with 3 beautiful kids and i never went collage and work as atour guide.

Sara, it sounds like you are very wise to me! You accept your child and help him develop his talents and abilities. And no, college is not the key to happiness. It is finding what you are suited to do and then going and being the best you can be at that occupation.

Sara,
You are right!! It is so important to be happy with yourself and
have people accept you the way you are. I feel that one of the
greatest gifts you can give a child is unconditional love and
acceptance. You can get by in life without knowing the difference
between a noun and an adverb, but it is hard to get by with no self-
confidence and low self-esteem. I want my LD daughter to do the
best she can academically, but my main concern for her is her
happiness and emotional well-being.
By the way, our family visited the Dominican Republic in June.
We had a great time. What a lovely island with warm and
hospitable people.
