Hello everyone,
I’m a 1-1 PCA for a 6 year old with CP. She will be going into a full inclusive 1st grade program in September. < wish me luck >
I wasn’t a big fan of full inclusion. Our school sent us out to an inclusion conference and that has helped me a bit. I’m not timid about the idea anymore but still feel that inclusion should be on an individual basis, not just because a child is enrolled in a full inclusive school.
The 1st grade teachers here are scared to death ..( even though I do most of the work ..hahaha )
If there is anyone who can guide me through the first step into an inclusive classroom ( what worked ..what didn’t ) I would truly appreciate it !!!!
Looking forward to hearing from you all, especially any paraprofessionals out there !
