New IEP...

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

Hi,
My 6 yr old son is repeating K and we moved to a private school. We
will be meeting soon for a reeval and IEP. He will be going to
resource for reading and math.

He has apraxia, phonological processing disorder, low working
memory. I believe is showing signs of dyslexia.

My main concern is all the above except apraxia since he is getting
speech therapy privately and at school.

What types of goals and objectives should I ask for. I want to make
sure they are very specific.

Can anyone guide me through this?

Thanks,
Diane

Diane,

All my goals and objectives are based on test results. You need the evaluations first before you can really decide on goals. Just be sure when they call you in to discuss the evaluation results that they do not write the IEP that same day. You may want some time to look the test results over and work on a list of objectives.
