numbers

question:
my 6 year old is not add/adhd but i discovered today that she sees numbers backwords and the letter c. is this normal. she had to write them today and i noticed it. asked her to write 1-10 and that is how i noticed. i had her copy them right off a writing tablet and that is what i got. any suggestions?

6 is very young and children this age are still learning to tell the difference between numbers and letters. This might be a condition that sticks with her or it might be developmental to her age. I would only keep a gentle eye on this and see what transpires in the school year ahead.

Dyslexia or a developmental vision problem or farsightedness could all cause this type of a problem. A developmental optometrist could diagnose or rule out the last 2 (covered by insurance becasue it is an evaluation) and you can move on from there.
