Hi. I am a resource teacher, and would really love to start a website for my students and their parents. Have been getting wonderful input from parents of former students. I’d like to include info about myself, about what we’re doing in class, homework, tips for helping kids, links to good sites, and a chatroom, once or twice a week for open discussion. Has anyone done this with success? I’m looking at geocities, angelfire, tripod….not sure which would meet my needs. Any input would help….Thanks.
PErsonally, I *hate* banner ads and the fact that most of those folks have, nestled in the fine print, a clause that says they own anything you publish (forget copyrights for written work).
A simple website is fairly easy to set up, but as soon as you get past the very basics (text and links) and into things like chatrooms, it turns into lots of work and a learning curve. There are a whole lot of half-built sites out there (and mine really needs some work right now… gotta get to it… :)) I would look into some of the web pages that are set up for teachers, myself (but of course the names of ‘em won’t come to me, now).
