pbs YOUNG WRITERS AND ILLUSTRATERS CONTEST

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

Just thought those here might want to think of this for next year. They allow kids to dictate stories which must be short. Only about 200 words. I checked with my station on rules and how they affect dyslexic kids and they said handwriting not required and parent writing down his words OK. It is kindergarton thru 3rd grade. My son, homeschooled won 2nd place. And another homeschooler won first. (we didn’t get started on the entry until late so just used an exercise he’d written for le endings for our story. He’s already trying to write a real one for next year) Can be big boost for school-wounded egos. Check out PBS KIDS.com and then you must send to your local pbs station. Entry deadline was march 17.
