Preschool Disabled Program Info.

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

I am doing a project for an Intro to Special Ed. course on preschool disabled programs. If anyone has any information, helpful websites or teaches a preschool disabled program, I would really appreciate your input. My project involves designing and setting up a preschool disabled classroom. I need to explain what will be taught, room arrangement, accomodations, schedules, materials and special features. If you teach preschool disabled, I would love to chat with you. Thanks in advance.

The preschool disabled programs I’ve seen were considered “services” rather than “programs”— a key distinction meaning that they were the means of providing the services needed according to the goals and objectives of each child’s individualized family service plan. The activities offered were ones that would help the children master their goals. I would start by deciding what children you would be serving.

I taught a early childhood special education program in public school for 9 years. I would be happy to answer any question you may have.
