Has anyone heard anything about when this program might be available?
Re: RAVE-O?
I just read that they will be presenting on RAVE-O at the IDA convention in Philadelphia in November. We should know then what the status is.

Re: RAVE-O?
Well don’t count on it. Dr. Wolf spoke at IDA in Albuquerque this past year. There was talk about when she would produce a program that could be used by teachers, etc. but I think her basic objection is that the way most programs are produced they are not too specific to the size of group, etc. She would like to test it accross groups etc. If anyone produces it it will most likely be ProEd.
I wish she would do what LMB has done. Start a training program and then she could say basically if you haven’t done the program I can’t be responsible for the results. I think that people have been successful with many of the LMB programs despite lack of training, and it means the programs have been available to a larger group.
If she did do a training program, she would be great fun to take from. She is very witty, intelligent, and really sensitive to the needs of the group. I did two of the workshops with her. During the second one, she started talking about lunch conversation that centered around children from bilingual families who weren’t as capable in English as they seemed. She said she never thought about this. I was quite impressed with someone who was so open in discussing something that she didn’t know about—stated she didn’t know about it!

Their own site has not been updated in a couple of years, so there is no telling from that source. They do have phone numbers if you are really curious. Do let us know what they say if you do call!
