Hi iris, It is good to speak with someone that has multiple training. Was the Lindamood training difficult? It is my estimation (having two severely dyslexic sons) that many of these kids will need the two or three years of intensive language instruction—yes? I appreciate the info. Donna: I am trained in Lindamood-Bell, Wilson and Slingerland. They are all
: good and appropriate for various needs. Wilson takes a long time
: for a child to complete (two to three years) and students don’t
: learn vowel digraphs and dipthongs until they get near the end.
: This is also a very systematic, complete program with 90-100%
: accuracy built in. It is methodical decoding and spelling. The
: LIPS (Lindamood) is sometimes a pre-curser to Wilson to clear up
: processing. The V/V (LINDAMOOD) is for language and comprehension,
: NOT decoding or spelling. Slingerland is for the entire class in
: grades 1 and 2. It is an Orton-based program and fine for at-risk,
: but LD need more intensive procedures.
