: By far the best model i have ever encountered is what is used in my sister’s district on the east coast. Every grade level in her school has an inclusion class co-taught all day long by a credentialed sped. and general ed. teacher. I suppose speech and OT could also come into the room as all IEP students are in the inclusion class, though it is only a few per grade level. The downside, this is $$$$$$$. You end up with several sped. teachers at each site. My district believes in one sped. resource teacher per site, so I am spread as thin as a strand of silk! No flex. servicing for me, almost strictly pull-out and fragmenting. Same goes for SLP who has 80+ students to teach and track. There’s your problem, huge caseloads spread too thin.
