reading and testing materials for older kids&a

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

Does anyone have any suggestions for both reading materials and testing materials for use with older teens and adults? Need material for reading level 1-8th grade, but appropriate subject matter for much older. Also need a testing material to determine level of “students” and some information to help build on their strengths during tutoring sessions. Thanks for your help!

Thanks for your help!http://www.resourceroom.net/Surfin/index2.asp#hilow has a list of reading resources (some of them pretty inexpensive, too) — link below. There are lots of other activities, etc. on the site for older learners. YOu might want to check out http://www.nifl.gov/lincs/ — National Institute For Literacy. They have several active email groups including an adult literacy/LD group.
