I have a question regarding the use of Reading Reflex. Have any of you purchased Word Works? Is this only for teachers or is there information that may be useful for the homeschooler? I know the parent supplement is helpful, but should I purchase Word Works which contains the supplement plus other material or is that a waste of money?
Thanks
I think WordWorks would be a waste of money for a homeschooler. It is basically work sheets (and activity sheets) that are reproducible for use in a classroom.
A homeschooler is usually best off using just the book at first, adding in the parent support manual for older students ($39) when you are ready to start advanced code. Occasionally the parent supplement ($59) is helpful — but only if you have a very young child 5yo or so, or an extremely delayed or MR older child. Most children don’t need the basic code worksheets that come with the supplement.
