Does anyone know how I can possibly secure a grant to open a private school for students with learning disabilities? It has been a dream of mine since I began teaching in the public school system to create a supportive, nurturing, yet academically challenging environment for these students. It became especially important to me after witnessing many of them “fall through the cracks” and get further and further behind. In my opinion, this is unacceptable. These students simply learn in different ways than others and they need people who are willing to develop strategies that best work for them.
In today’s economy, however, I am hesitant to secure a loan for this venture and it is very expensive to open a school. If anyone has any suggestions, I would appreciate it!
