Has anyone ever heard of or used the program called Semple Math? If so, what do you think of it?

It’s got some good visual cues and mnemonics to help students remember things — so if rote memory is the main issue for a kiddo, this will be a big help. It’s also set at a good pace for kids who wrestle with the concepts. However, it’s not as strong in helping cement the connection between abstract and concrete as a multisensory program like the Landmark one. And nobody ever includes *enough* good practice-‘til-it’s-automatic in the program — you have to build that into it yourself.

My son used it in resource room for two years. I liked the beginning of it but found the discussion of place value very confusing. They talked about teenagers nd kids and who knows what else. The termonology was very strange and hard for a parent to follow and thus help. Also, my son was also getting math in the regular classroom so it was doubly confusing.

On the other hand, they do a lot of drill of numbers adding to ten and that really helped my son.
