My son struggles with both of these areas. He is 10 years old, in grade 5 (inclusion class) and doing very well with support.
But he has difficulty with novel problem-solving as it applies to real life as well as school-work. In school, he needs help with writing essays as well as math word problems. He doesn’t know how to break the problem down and what to do first.
To be honest, I’m more worried about the real-life applications. Any thoughts on a way to work on this?

P.S. His dx is NLD and adhd-inattentive.
