posted on other board and several women said that you have helped them and were singing your praises.
I have just finishe reading the right to read and Im waiting for the out of sync child to arrive via amazon.
After years of trying to fix his diet and cope I feel like Im getting somewhere with my son and have finally started to get some support, I live in Edinburgh in Scotland and the system has not exactly helped us so far, but at last Ive found an OT who is helping.
My son is 6 and will start formal education next August. Hes smart and gorgeous and has been really different and incredible difficult to parent. I have a highly spirited 9 year old girl and think Im a well skilled parent. Clear bounderies lots of love etc and I do enjoy my kids.
My son didnt speak til he was 4 and between 2 and 5 spent most of his time screaming, biting, fighting and I was advised he may have ADHD. I read about it via the internet and tried fish oil supplements and a superbly healthy diet. This helped a bit. I put him to the Rudolph Steiner School. Lots of outdoor play, quiet place, small numbers. All of this is working and he is calm and articulate. The OT says his main areas of difficult are Sensory Integration Dysfunction and that he has Autistic Specturm Disorder.
Do you have any suggestions. I want to teach him to read and write this year as he gets frustrated that his sister can read and he cant.
I would so appreciate any advice you may have.
Best wishes
