Sometimes I take a combined group of both general ed/Sp. Ed. students into my resource room to work on a particular skill. Now, this may seem like a silly question for those of you who have been doing inclusion for a long time. But, suppose I take out one of my Special Ed. kids who only receives services in math for a Writing lesson. Is this child considered a general ed. student for this particular class period or is he considered Special Ed. all of the time, no matter what?
I’ve never thought about that; usually my kids need help in most areas, even if it’s just comprehension and reading the math problem vs. the math facts.
