Strategies for Teaching Math

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

I am compiling a box of strategies for teaching math to students with the following areas of learning disabilities:

Visual Discrimination
Visual Memory
Visual Figure Ground

Auditory Discrimination
Auditory Memory
Auditory Figure Ground

Gross Motor
Fine Motor

I would appreciate suggestions on both the Elementary and Secondary level in these areas.

Thank you!

Try to get hold of a book called Educational Care by Mel Levine. It will have some suggestions in there for you.

I doubt it’s going to have much on strategies for teaching math to students with gross motor issues though…. but it might help with some of the others.
