Re: summer program for dyslexic boys
Dear Ursula,
I tried to respond to your message before. I will write again just to make sure that you received this information. This program is 6 weeks in length. Our desire is to work with the whole child (student) by presenting a strong academic program along with exciting outdoor pursuits (horse back riding, rock climbing, hiking, fishing, field trips, etc..) We are focused on remediating students’ language skills (decoding, comprehension, spelling, written expression, handwriting, etc..) as well as building self-esteem. Our teachers and tutors are carefully selected for their experience and expertise. All language tutors are specialists with private school experience and Orton-Gillingham training. It is not uncommon for students attending programs with this design to advance their reading and spelling skills several grade levels in one summer. I have seen this happen on numerous occasions. This area is absolutely beautiful and it would be difficult to find campuses that compare with ours. The mountain views and scenery are spectacular. In addition to the mountains, the campus borders on the North Fork of the Shoshone, which is known for its first class trout fishing. There are many interesting field trips within a short drive (Buffalo Bill Historical Museum, Yellowstone Park, The Beartooth Mountains, Thermopolis Hot Springs, and much more).
Please write to me if you have other specific questions. You may also call me at 307 527 9984.
Best regards,
Fran Lunney
Co-director
can you please give me some more information about the summer school? We live in the UK and am finding it very difficult getting my son into a summer camp which encompasses more than a week. Yours sincerely , Ursula
