Am looking for advice about teaching math to ADD child with dyscalculia. He is gifted child, 14yr, but cannot do the basic math procedures.

i have alittle brother w/adhd and his teacher really seems to have a hard time understanding his needs complains alot about his behavior i need some info on how to aproach her in a friendly mannor i already talked with her once and tried to explain his needs and how to aproach him but she seems to put him in a category and he notices alot do you have any advise?

Hello Dama,

It is considered courteous to include the word “please” in a request for help. Anyway, I suggest you click on some of the headings, like “LD in Depth” for articles that cover topics you are interested in. Also try doing a search for specific topics. Good luck. JJ

Mandy,
Do not get discouraged. Keep looking for answers and eventually they will come to you a little at a time. The library is a wonderful place to start. Read Read Read.As for the teacher, that is short term and could possibly go your way next year. How nice it is of you to be concerned for your little brother! Some children don’t even have parents that help, your brother is very lucky to have you!
