Our school has just begun using this reading/language arts program this September. For the first 45 minutes we have Treasures, which is the whole-group activity—vocabulary, phonics, spelling, grade-level anthology and comprehension. The second 45 minutes is used for intervention. This part goes over the same decoding skills, 6th grade vocabulary, but while the other students also go to leveled readers (approaching grade level, on grade level, and beyond), the students who are significantly below grade level also read leveled readers (high interest, but easier to read stories and more fluency activities built in. The same comprehension skills (story mapping right now) are the same for everyone.
My question is, have any of you used this program, and what is your opinion of this program?
