Vision Therapy

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

I am looking for information about vision therapy. What type of kids does this help? How and when does a parent know there child need this? What type of professional can decide this? My son is 11 and has capd and compreh difficulties. I was told by the school neurologist that due to his visual/preceptual and visual/motor difficulties he might benefit from this what does everyone think? Any and all comments about vision therapy please!!!

Everyone please respond

My son has a visual motor deficit. He has improved tremendously with vision therapy. He could read before VT but did not like to. He now reads all the time.

He has also improved in sports, writing and spelling. We still have a way to go with writing.

I would say don’t do it unless you are going to work hard at home on the exercises. This is not something you can just take him to once or twice a week and forget about.

My son goes to Dr Moskowitz in Bridgewater New Jersey. He is great!
