One section of the article I found kind of interesting was that deficits in rapid visual processing were significantly associated with orthographic processing in children with reading disabilities, but not in reading disabled adults, thus theorizing that orthographic processing deficits are a delay condition that should diminish by adulthood.
(Not that this should be ignored — one wouldn’t want their child to lose out on learning time. But it’s kind of nice to think there’s a chance this type of condition may eventually diminish).
