Last year, dd had one “Dictation” WJ (3.0 Form A) score which I was told was comprised of spelling, grammar, capitalization and punctuation.
This year’s WJ (III Form A must mean same 3.0 as above but Version 1.1 is noted) results show “Punctuation and Capitals”.
Does this mean the school did only one “subtest” of Dictation excluding spelling this year?
Thanks!!!!!
Hi -
WJR HAD a subtest called Dictation which included spelling, usage (irregular plurals & past tense) and some punctuation. When the lastest test revision came out (WJIII), Dictation was dropped and Spelling is the skill subtest for the Written Language area. Both the WJR and WJIII have Punctuation & Caps in supplemental tests (ie ones that are not routinely given).
Hope that helps,
L
