Give an appealing action photograph to the student(s) (e.g., two boys galloping on horseback, a lineman climbing a light pole, a family at a dinner table, etc.) Show them the picture and — over three days — ask them to write three separate stories:

  • One wherein the picture occurs at the very beginning of the story.
  • One wherein the picture occurs at the conclusion of the story.
  • And one wherein the picture occurs in the middle of the story!
